Job Overview
RidgeCorps is hiring experienced sit-down Forklift Operators to support warehouse operations in Jefferson, Georgia. This position pays $18.00 per hour, is a 1st Shift role, and is paid weekly.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate sit-down forklifts to move materials throughout the facility.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and inventory to designated storage areas.
- Verify quantities and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Organize inventory and maintain proper stock rotation within warehouse locations.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment maintenance needs.
- Accurately complete inventory, shipping, receiving, and equipment documentation.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track material movement.
- Assist with picking, packing, and shipping activities as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow company safety standards at all times.
- Support inventory control and cycle count activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
- Experience safely operating sit-down forklifts in warehouse environments.
- Experience loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and storing materials.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory software.
- Ability to accurately verify incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Strong attention to detail and inventory control practices.
- Ability to safely transport products while minimizing damage and maximizing efficiency.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous sit-down forklift operating experience required.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, perform basic calculations, and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Strong safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying temperature conditions.
